Archie, who will turn two next May, is said to be growing up quickly and happily in Meghan and Harry’s home in Montecito, California. Meghan and Harry spend hours playing in the garden with their son, the source said as the family celebrated their first US Thanksgiving together.
A source told People magazine: “They are very happy. Archie is thriving and growing quickly.
“As a family, they spend hours outside.”
The family-of-three celebrated Thanksgiving with a “quiet” dinner and a homecooked meal, according to a source close to the Sussexes.
They said: “They are going to have a quiet dinner at home and are looking forward to celebrating their first American Thanksgiving in the States as a family.
“They plan to enjoy a home-cooked meal with traditional Thanksgiving dishes, including recipes made with fresh vegetables from their garden.”
The young family is believed to have been joined on the special holiday by Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
Next month, Archie, Harry and Meghan will also likely spend their first Christmas together in the US, as travel restrictions issued to tackle the coronavirus pandemic continue to make it difficult for the Sussexes to cross the pond and visit their British side of the family.

The source said the family is “excited to decorate for Christmas”.
Last year the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent their Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in British Columbia, during an announced six-week break from royals duties.
From Canada, they marked a royal first by issuing an e-card to wish a merry Christmas to all their fans and followers.
In the cute picture, Archie took the centre stage, crawling towards the camera while smiling Meghan and Harry looked on next to a Christmas tree.

In May, to mark his first birthday, Prince Harry filmed Meghan reading the book Duck! Rabbit! to their son.
The video was shared via the Save the Children Instagram account as part as their Save With Stories appeal.
Archie hasn’t been seen in public in recent months, but their beloved parents have often spoken about him during interviews and appearances.
In late August, Prince Harry revealed he wants to share his passion for rugby with his son.
Speaking to Rugby Football League players via video call, the prince said: “Probably what I need is a few mini rugby balls so that I can then get Archie involved with the game, because at the moment it’s impossible to find any.
“But I’ve got a little space outside, which we’re fortunate enough to have. So I need to get him playing some Rugby League.”
Speaking about how lucky are people with a garden during lockdown, Harry added: “I am just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside, because I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months.”
In October, the Duchess of Sussex revealed her son loves birds.
Meghan and Harry marked World Mental Health Day by taking part in the Teenager Therapy podcast.
While speaking about how COVID-19 has made parents’ lives even more complicated, Meghan was interrupted by a loud noise.
Speaking to the person recording the chat, the Duchess asked: “Victor, do you want me to hold for that sound?”
Joking, hosts and guests decided the background noise “added to it”.
Prince Harry then added: “I can make bird noises if you want.”
Amid laughter, Meghan could be heard saying “he loves birds”.
She later added: “And Archie loves birds”.
