Thousands of couples were forced to cancel their nuptials this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and those that went ahead did so with tight restrictions.
The Prime Minister spoke to a representative of Launcells Barton, a wedding venue in Cornwall, as part of an online question and answer session.
Answering a question Mr Johnson said: “Mass testing, combined with the growth in the number of people who’ve been vaccinated, will make a difference I think before Easter and there’s a real possibility that lateral flow testing will allow events like weddings to go ahead.”
On Wednesday Britain became the first major western country to approve the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine for public use.
