Ms Hartley-Brewer said: “I feel some of this is a step too far for me living in a free democracy.”
Mr Tice replied: “You are absolutely right and the truth is the Government has lost the confidence of the people because of its continuing incompetence on so many issues.
“I think the majority of people recognise that the Government has completely misinterpreted what is going on.
“The majority of people including myself now feel that we can work out what represents a risk to other and will apply our own judgement.

“That is what you do in a free and democratic society.
“I think we are in a very difficult place and the Government has completely misjudged and misread the data.
“It is not good and the implications for businesses and jobs are truly appalling.”
Ms Hartley-Brewer added: “When we do start seeing those massive job losses that we are going to see at the end of that furlough scheme I think a lot of people are going to feel very different.
Mr Hancock replied: “I completely reject that accusation.
“We have the biggest testing system per head of population of all the major countries in Europe and we bult it essentially from scratch.
“Right now, we have the highest capacity for testing that we have ever had, it has increased compared to last week.
“That testing means that we can find these cases and therefore help to keep the virus under control with the contact tracing system as well.”
