Greater Manchester Police were called to the Edge Lane Metrolink stop in Droylsden on Saturday evening. The young victim was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service, before being transferred to hospital. Officers confirmed the boy is recovering and in a stable condition.
The incident occurred at around 8pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 8pm on Saturday February 6, police were called to a reported stabbing at the Edge Lane Metrolink Stop, Droylsden.
“A juvenile male was treated at the scene by NWAS and then transferred to hospital.
“His condition is described as stable.
“An male juvenile has been arrested for assault and is currently in custody.”
Eyewitnesses at the scene said that a large police presence was in place with around ten emergency services vehicles in attendance.
