Camilla took part in the virtual celebrations for Flowers from the Farm’s 10th anniversary yesterday. Appearing on a video call, the royal revealed her love for flower arranging and thanked the farmers for continuing to pick blooms during the coronavirus pandemic, as she said the bouquets have the remarkable power to “lift spirits”.
The video, shared on Flowers from the Farm’s Instagram page, showed two clips of the Duchess speaking to the camera.
She said: “Over the past, challenging year, there have been few things that have had the power to cheer us up as much as our native flowers.
“Even when we were unable to meet, we could send one another bouquets – and, in doing so, celebrate those we love.”
The Duchess’ comment appears to hint that she and Prince Charles have sent flowers to loved ones, such as the Queen during the coronavirus lockdown, in a bid to keep in touch and raise spirits.
Camilla then spoke of the true joy flowers can bring.
She said: “And though we were unable to enjoy many of the arts we could all be inspired by this country’s glorious flowers and try our hands at creating our own arrangements – happily one of my favourite hobbies.
“Flowers, as you all know truly are nature’s healers.
“Their myriad sense and colours cannot help but lift the spirits.
