Speaking to royal fans across the nation, Camilla admitted her desire for everyone to “delve” into her new reading initiative. Launched last week, the Duchess of Cornwall said The Reading Room is for everyone’s enjoyment. She said: “I think I’d like it to be something that everyone could delve into, and find something that suited them, and enjoy it.
“I think it’s for peoples’ enjoyment and I think they get more enjoyment if they can see little snippets of authors, and why they wrote their books.”
In a touching moment in the video released on The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Twitter page, she also explained why she began the book club.
She added: “I just think it’s because I love reading myself, I think a lot of other people also get a huge amount of pleasure from it.
“And it’s because I’ve had letters from all over the world, when I put out my original reading list saying, ‘Saying have you read this?’
“’You might enjoy that’. It’s a lovely way of communicating.”
Launching her book club last week, Camilla chose four titles for royal fans to read for themselves.
Last week, Camilla chose Hilary Mantel’s novel about Cromwell’s final years, The Mirror And The Light.
She has also picked Where The Crawdads Sing, a tale of an abandoned girl, by Delia Owens; spy thriller Restless by William Boyd and The Architect’s Apprentice by Elif Shafak, about a boy in 16th-century Istanbul.

“I’ve loved it since I was very small and I’d love everybody else to enjoy it as much as I do.
“You can escape, and you can travel, and you can laugh and you can cry.
“There’s every type of emotion humans experience in a book.”
Camilla has been a constant presence throughout the pandemic and even guest-edited an episode of BBC 5 Live’s Emma Barnett Show.
Commenting on her increase presence in the technological world, Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty Magazine said: “Both Charles and Camilla have been troupers throughout 2020, given the pandemic, and their ages.
“But in terms of Camilla, she has been more visible and more audible than she has ever been before.
