Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall has kicked off her new ‘Reading Room’ initiative with four book recommendations to her followers. The senior royal created the new Instagram account two weeks ago and is planning to use the page to encourage people to “enjoy [reading] as much as [she does]”. To officially introduce the start of ‘Season One’, the Duchess released a short video and was praised in the comments for her “wonderful” idea.
In the clip, Camilla said: “Hello and welcome to my reading room.
“To me, reading is a great adventure.
“I’ve loved it since I was very small, and I’d love everybody else to enjoy it as much as I do.”
“You can escape, and you can travel, and you can laugh and you can cry.”

She added: “There’s every type of emotion humans experience in a book.”
The caption of the post read: “HRH The Duchess of Cornwall welcomes you to The Reading Room.
“Over the next eight weeks, we will be delving into some of Her Royal Highness’s favourite books.”
The first selections are ‘The Mirror & The Light’, ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, ‘Restless’ and ‘The Architect’s Apprentice’.
