The new unauthorised biography about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has sent shockwaves through royal fans and commentators. Channel 5 documentary, ‘Meghan & Harry: The New Revelations’, discussed the insights given in the book ‘Finding Freedom’, particularly regarding the Duke of Sussex’s motivations behind issuing a statement demanding the press stop harassing the Duchess, who was at the time his girlfriend. However, as the programme noted, it was not the first time that Harry had come out in vocal defence of a partner.
In 2005 while dating Chelsy Davy, the Prince gave a frank interview to mark his 21st birthday.
He had said of the gossip swirling around his relationship: “I suppose that is the media in general, there’s truth and there’s lies.
“Unfortunately I can’t get the truth across because I don’t have my own column in the paper.
“It does irritate me because I get to see how upset she gets and I know the real her.”

Royal biographer, Andrew Morton told Channel 5: “I don’t think Harry’s changed an awful lot over the years.
“He’s become far more considered and far more aware of what’s going on in the world.
“At the same time his hostility to mass media, to photographers and the paparazzi in particular, hasn’t changed one jot.
“So he was hostile to them before and is hostile to them now to the point where he has, in his own mind, more control over his life.”
‘Finding Freedom’ also offers insights into the feud between Harry and William.
The authors claim the book is sourced by close friends and confidants of the Sussexes.
There has been no comment from Buckingham Palace on the book so far.
And a separate spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to ‘Finding Freedom’.
“This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”
