On Friday the Government said a further 376 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19, bringing the UK total to 51,304.
This was compared to 563 deaths recorded on Thursday.
Infections announced on Friday were also down to 27,301 compared to more than 33,000 yesterday.
The rise brings the total number of confirmed cases in the UK to 1,317,496.
