On Monday the Prime Minister said everybody in England should remain in their homes except for a limited number of exemptions such as essential shopping, exercise and work if it can’t be done remotely. He added the weeks ahead will be the “hardest yet” for the nation.
In a video released on Monday evening Mr Farage explained how he thinks the coronavirus pandemic should be tackled.
The Brexit Party leader called for a “rapid increase” in the vaccination programme and urged Mr Johnson to form a “Government of all the talents” to oversee it.
Describing the current Cabinet as the “most low grade I’ve ever seen in my lifetime” Mr Farage added this could include former Prime Minister Tony Blair who has been outspoken during the pandemic.
The leading Brexiteer commented: “Are we really going to trust the same people, the same Cabinet ministers, who made such a mess of testing in the early days?
“Whose almost every promise they have failed to deliver upon. Or is it time to think about a different approach?
“It is time to have a Government, and to have people leading it, who’ve got genuine talent even if they disagree on many other policy matters.
“This Cabinet is the most inexperienced, the most low grade, I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.
“Much as I don’t like Tony Blair he does get things done, he commands respect, he is seriously bright.

He commented: “It looks like the most depressing early winter since 1941, since 80 years ago when our big cities were experiencing the Blitz.
“We’ve had bad winters, we’ve had terrible weather, but nothing quite as awful as the prospect of being locked down until March.”
Mr Farage urged the Government to radically increase the number of coronavirus vaccination sites and to bring in the military.
He warned unless this happens Britain could face a national lockdown until May or even later.
On vaccinations he commented: “We could even be doing it at motorway service stations.
“We could be doing it everywhere.
“We should, at a time of national emergency, use the standing army that we’ve got.”
Addressing the nation on Monday Mr Johnson said the new lockdown measures will last until the middle of February at the earliest.
They are being introduced to combat and new and far more infectious strain of Covid-19.
Mr Johnson said this had put hospitals under “more pressure from Covid than at any time since the start of the pandemic”.
