There were 14,104 cases recorded on Monday, according to the latest Government figures. A total of 333 people were also reported to have died from COVID-19.
This latest figure brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,959,784, marking the lowest number of cases since December 8.
According to figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate show there have now been 130,000 deaths involving the virus in the UK.
To date, more than 12,806,587 jabs of the coronavirus vaccine has been given to people across the UK so far.
This is a rise of 278,988 on the previous day.
Some 512,581 were second doses, an increase of 862 on figures released the previous day.
The seven-day rolling average of first doses given in the UK is now 428,130.
Based on the latest figures, an average of 386,571 first doses of vaccine would be needed each day to meet the Government’s target of 15 million first doses by February 15.
