It comes as Europe’s overall coronavirus cases surpassed 25 million, with the continent recording at least 25,016,506 cases and 559,863 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Meanwhile, UK Government’s statistics show a total of 1,296,432 have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Following the UK’s daily Covid statistics announcement, Boris Johnson is set to address the nation in a Downing Street press conference at 5pm this afternoon.

The Prime Minister is expected to unveil a masterplan to turbocharge the UK’s vaccine drive, including drafting in the Army to help administer the life-saving jabs.
