Covid cases remain high in the UK with 38,598 new cases confirmed on Sunday, January 17, however, the cases reported are the lowest the UK has seen since the start of 2021.
On Sunday, a further 671 deaths were recorded within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.
Britain has approved Covid vaccines from three manufacturers for use in the UK, and the Government is hopeful mass vaccination could help start to ease restrictions across the country.
