January 4 is a bank holiday in Scotland as a replacement for the January 2 bank holiday, which fell on a Saturday this year.
The next bank holiday in Northern Ireland is on St Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
The next bank holiday in England and Wales is not until April 2021.

This means the Queen’s 70th year on the throne will be celebrated with a four-day weekend.
