Certain areas in England have been experiencing a growth in coronavirus rates, according to Professor Jonathan Van-Tam. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England provided a graph during the latest Downing Street briefing. It mapped the seven day rates of change of disease across the UK.
Professor Van-Tam told viewers: “You can see quite clearly that there are quite a few areas where the rate has increased.
“That does show that in some parts of the UK, case rates are changing, albeit slowly, but in the wrong direction.
“This is not a good sign, and reinforces the fact that this battle is not won.”
