Kate Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are passionate about maintaining as much normality for their children as possible. Therefore, as Prince George and Princess Charlotte returned to school the couple have been spotted on the school run to St Thomas’s School in Battersea once again. But what breach of protocol have Kate and William been permitted that has been denied to other parents?
Prince George and Princess Charlotte returned to school earlier this month.
Prince George is now in Year 3, while Princess Charlotte has started Year 1.
George has now entered Middle School meaning his school fees have increased from £6,655 to £7,520.
Princess Charlotte’s school fees are slightly lower because she is the second child enrolled at the school paying £6,560 per term.

But, this new rule does not apply to the Cambridge family.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair: “According to one parent, the school has installed numerous Covid prevention measures and parents now have to drop children at the school gates.
“The Cambridges, however, are still able to drive their children into the school grounds.”
This is likely to be due to security requirements and the Royal Family will have personal protection officers with them at all times.
Ms Nicholl also revealed new rules have included suspending swimming lessons.
The royal expert added the two Cambridge children are “thrilled” to return to school.
She told Vanity Fair: “William and Kate have been homeschooling their children since March, but they returned for the first day of term on Monday [September 7].
“While Kensington Palace did not release any images of the children’s first day back, George who has moved into Year 3 and Charlotte who is in Year 1 are said to be thrilled to be back at school with their friends, even though some activities such as swimming have been suspended.”
As Charlotte returns to school, she finds comfort in seeing a family friend’s face in her classroom.
One of her teachers, Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe shares a very special bond with the Royal Family.
Lucy is in fact married to Charlotte’s godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee, a lifelong friend of Prince William.
Lucy and Thomas married in July but had been due to marry in April with Charlotte and George holding special roles as bridesmaid and usher.
