During the Royally Obsessed podcast, Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour on the royal train this week. Ms Bowie pointed out that it was Kate’s first time on the royal train despite the fact Meghan Markle’s first royal engagement took place there.
Ms Bowie said: “The royal train tour was a three-day tour of the UK, 1250 miles, they really covered it all.
“It was their first royal train trip as a couple and I didn’t realise this, but it was Kate’s first time ever on the royal train, which I thought was crazy.
“Meghan actually had her first engagement with the Queen on the royal train.”
Ms Fiorito asked: “Was it also William’s first time or their first time together?”

Ms Bowie replied: “It was their first time together, William had been on the royal train before from what I understand.
“But Kate had not so this was really new for her.”
However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal train tour was labelled controversial by some as it went between England, Wales and Scotland – amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The current restrictions in Scotland have banned travel between Scotland and England unless there is a reasonable exception.
These include travel for work, to provide voluntary or charitable services, but only when this cannot be done from home.
Royal sources said the Kate and Prince William’s visit was planned in consultation with the UK and Scottish Government.
The source added that stressed that travelling to Scotland is permitted for work purposes and that the Cambridges went to Scotland to carry out their work.
