Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge was “guided” by Prince William in the run-up to her guest appearance on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast last year. The senior royal had opened up for the first time about motherhood as well as delving deeper into her early years’ work. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito discussed the show as part of a breakdown of the best royal moments of 2020.

Ms Bowie told listeners: “It was so great hearing her, and it was so relatable as well.

“I can’t believe that happened this year, I feel like it was so long ago.

“Also there was a revelation that came out just this month that Prince William was actually the one that guided Kate.

“She was nervous and he said, ‘don’t stress about it, just talk’.”

She continued: “He told her that they could always edit it in post if she went a little too candid.

“I think that freedom for her really played out well.

“It was also the launch of the 5 Big Questions on the Under Fives.

“That was really the intention of her going on.”

She added: “We didn’t get that much of her actually talking.

“She went on this podcast for 35 minutes.

“She talked about her Lindo Wing experience with George.

“She said it was slightly terrifying but it was important for her to do.

“She talked about her morning sickness, her choice of hypnobirthing and also her mum guilt.”
