Kate Middleton has long been lauded for her fashion sense – with royal watchers and fans keeping tabs on her varying wardrobe. Kate has delighted fans even further this week with her latest fashion choice, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out to meet the finalists of Kate’s lockdown photography project Hold Still.
Later in the day, they filmed with broadcaster Kate Garraway for the Pride of Britain Awards in London.
Kate wore a tailored blue suit paired with a blue button-down shirt and was praised for the smart choice.
The outfit choice also matched that of her husband Prince William – who also wore a blue suit.
But apparently one of Kate’s favourite looks is actually one of the Queen’s biggest pet peeves when it comes to dressing for the occasion.
Kate completed the outfit with a simple black top and pearl drop earrings.
Kate’s looked reminded royal fans of a look by her sister-in-law Meghan Markle.
In 2018, the Duchess of Sussex wore a tailored black pantsuit by Altuzarra for the WellChild Awards.
The reason why the Queen doesn’t like the royal women wearing suits is not entirely clear – although the monarch herself never opts for the setup.
The Queen tends to stick to a regular uniform, comprising of a long coat, hat, black handbag, and pearls – all coordinated in colour.
