Speculation regarding whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be set to announce they are expecting their fourth child has erupted this year, particularly after Kate appeared on a podcast for mothers. On the ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby’ broadcast, Kate confessed about the excitement parenthood has given her, as well as detailing the challenges she had experienced as a mother. Previously, different hints have been made when a royal is pregnant, particularly with Kate, who gives away a subtle suggestion with the way she wears her hair.
Kate, and her husband Prince William, already have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
But while Kate was pregnant with their first son, it was in fact William who dropped a major hint as to whether his wife was expecting.
A week before Kate’s pregnancy was confirmed, William sparked reports after he accepted a baby romper suit from a member of the public in Cambridge.
According to reports, the outfit had the words “Daddy’s little co-pilot” emblazoned on it, as well as a picture of a helicopter.
At the time, William was working as an RAF Search and Rescue Pilot, and according to the Daily Mail, he “smiled when he collected the item”, before the Duke of Cambridge added: “I’ll keep that.”
William and Kate were in Cambridge when they were approached by Samantha Hill, who gave the couple the gift.
Ms Hill said: “I made it for when his little one comes along, he’s a helicopter pilot so his baby will think his daddy is cool.
“When I gave it to him he said ‘I’ll keep that’ and handed it to his aide.”

Other hints have been dropped by the couple when Kate is pregnant, including when she was expecting Prince Louis and she opted to cut her hair short, moving away from her renowned “big and bouncy Chelsea blow dry” look.
She returned to her iconic style following Louis’ arrival, with celebrity hairstylist James Johnson explaining that it could be to “keep her hair off her face” while attending to her three young children.
Speaking to FEMAIL, Mr Johnson said: “She was known for her big and bouncy ‘Chelsea blow dry’ for years and now she’s gone back to that, back to her signature style.
“It might be easier for her to have longer hair so that she can pull it back and off her face while running after three young children.”

Mr Johnson also advised on why expectant mothers would chop back their hair.
He added: “Having shorter hair helps keep them feeling fresh. Their hair becomes too much for them.
“When you’re pregnant you can feel low in terms of self esteem as your body goes through such drastic changes throughout nine months so Kate may have cut her hair differently to give herself a confidence boost and experiment with a new look whilst she may not have been feeling 100 percent herself.”
Kate has dropped other hints she is expecting in the past, including when she refused alcoholic drinks while visiting Ireland.
