The Duchess made her confession during a Thursday video call with parents of pupils at Roe Green Junior School in Brent. Like all parents throughout the country Kate has had to learn many new skills to help get her family through the various lockdowns. Chief among the new jobs she has to master is that of hairdresser.
Asked by the host of the informal chat session to write down one word to describe their lockdown experiences, the Duchess chose “exhausting”.
When asked why “exhausting”, Kate said: “As parents you’ve got the day-to-day elements of being a parent.
“But I suppose during lockdown we have had to take on additional roles that perhaps others around us in our communities, in our lives would have perhaps supported us and helped us with.”
Then breaking out into a laugh, she continued: “So I have become a hairdresser this lockdown, much to my children’s horror!”
She added: “We’ve had to become teacher, and I personally feel pulled in so many different directions.”
Royal fans on Twitter were quick to praise the Duchess for being willing to talk candidly about her lockdown tribulations as a parent.
