Kate’s brother, 33, took to Instagram to share a picture of his six dogs who had been joined by a seventh canine friend.
In the caption, James wrote: “The only thing I understood from Boris trying to explain the new restrictions is that the rule of 6 doesn’t apply to Dogs!”
The photo shows the businessman’s dogs sitting together in front of a fire.
The post prompted a string of comments from James’s followers.
One wrote: “Thank goodness for that!”
Another said: “My 15 aren’t sticking to the rules either even Boris my retriever.”
A third agreed, saying: “Thank goodness.”
Another added: “Thank god or thank dogs.”

James’s post comes after the Prime Minister was forced to apologise on Tuesday over confusion about new restrictions in north-east England.
The entrepreneur’s dogs regularly feature on his popular Instagram account which has 194,000 followers.
