Kate and Prince William visited Barry Island, South Wales and Cardiff earlier this week in a bid to help the British travel industry recover from the coronavirus pandemic. Kate wore a stunning blue floral Emilia Wickstead gown for the occasion, matched with a pair of earrings that paid a sweet tribute to the region she was visiting and gave a touching message of support for a cause close to the Cambridge’s hearts.
Kate wore 18k gold plated Alia hoops crafted by female designer Hayley Jones, who is based in Wales and owns local business, Spells of Love.
The earrings were clearly visible as she wore her hair down, tucking it behind her ears.
The hoops, which retail at £62, feature a modern style with a chic squared off shape.
The brand is described online as crafting pieces with a mix of “bohemian feminine influence”, with a focus on “ethical production”.
Kate’s decision to wear the dangling earrings gives a subtle nod to Wales and highlights the importance of shopping local in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Spells of Love was launched in August 2019 and quickly became a favourite among British celebrities, including Made In Chelsea’s Sophie Habbo and TOWIE’s Chloe Lewis.
The brand has a positive ethos, which puts sustainability at its heart.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited amusement arcades in South Wales on Wednesday and were seen playing many of the games.
Kate was spotted trying her hand at a claw machine but was feared after the toy slipped from the cranes grasp.
The couple were also seen trying their hand at a ball game, where they threw as many balls as they could at a plastic clown.
They won a number of arcade tickets at the games’ conclusion.
Kate and William made the trip to Barry Island after they heard about the impact that closing during the coronavirus lockdown had had on businesses during what would have been a busy period for the seaside resort.
The news of their visit to the arcade was kept under wraps, to avoid crowds assembling.
The Duke and Duchess also visited Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff during their visit, where the couple met with several of the residents.
