A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries, a police spokeswoman said and there is still a heavy police presence at the scene in at the Knoll, in Runcorn.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: “Police are currently dealing with a serious incident in Runcorn
“At around 1.20pm on Wednesday 12 August police were called to an address on the Knoll.
“During the incident a man sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
“Officers are currently establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident and patrols have been increased in the area to provide reassurance.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the community.”
