This is done in a bid to avoid reimposing social distancing restrictions and closures on a nation-wide basis.
The UK and devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, brought in a mandatory lockdown in March.
These measures meant the closure of businesses, schools and workplaces for almost four months while the country battled the virus.
From May, the four nations have been gradually easing the measures in a phased approach, by unlocking one sector at a time.
