Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have signed a multiyear deal with the US streaming service, which has more than 151million subscribers worldwide.

The couple, who stood down as senior royals less than six months ago, will produce documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.

The signing, with will see the pair found a new production company, gives a sweet nod to their 15-month-old son Archie, as they are keen to produce family programmes.

The couple said in a statement: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

They added that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”

It is not yet known how much Meghan and Harry will receive for the signing.
