Meghan spent her 39th birthday far from the spotlight and in the company of her family. While she is believed to have remained at the Sussexes’ mansion in Los Angeles, Meghan was still treated to a delightful dinner prepared by her husband Harry, a source claimed.

The anonymous insider said: “They spent the day as a family and in the evening, Doria looked after Archie so that Meghan and Harry could enjoy some couple time.

“Harry cooked Meghan a three-course dinner, but Doria helped him with the preparation.

“While Harry has become a better cook since marrying Meghan, he still has a way to go!”

The source added Prince Harry spoilt his wife with a series of presents including a necklace he designed and a framed picture of the two of them.

Meghan’s loving mother Doria is said to have moved in with the Sussexes at the £18million LA mansion owned by producer Tyler Perry they are currently staying at.

Last month, Us Weekly reported a source saying: “Doria Ragland continues to live with Meghan, Harry, and Archie.

“This has been the most time she has spent with her grandson since he was born.”

As she spends some quality time with her grandson, Doria also helps Meghan preparing organic food for the toddler as well as reading to him, the source added.

Meghan’s birthday was publicly marked by the Royal Family, with the three main households publishing tweets and pictures dedicated to the Duchess of Sussex.

Buckingham Palace wrote on Twitter on August 4: “Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!”

This message was accompanied by a picture taken in June 2018 of the Queen and Meghan on their joint engagement in Cheshire.

The Cambridges and Prince Charles also tweeted a message dedicated to the Duchess of Sussex to express their birthday wishes.

Meghan’s birthday came ahead of a busy month for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Last week, Prince Harry wrote a comment in which he denounced social media platform for stoking a crisis of hate, health and truth.

In an impassioned op-ed he wrote for website Fast Company, the Duke said: “Our message was clear: The digital landscape is unwell and companies like yours have the chance to reconsider your role in funding and supporting online platforms that have contributed to, stoked, and created the conditions for a crisis of hate, a crisis of health, and a crisis of truth.”

In his comment, Prince Harry urged business leaders and investors to use their money spent in advertisement on social media as leverage to ask for a change on these platforms.

He continued: “For companies that purchase online ads, it is one thing to unequivocally disavow hate and racism, white nationalism and anti-Semitism, dangerous misinformation, and a well-established online culture that promotes violence and bigotry.

“It is another thing for them to use their leverage, including through their advertising dollars, to demand change from the very places that give a safe haven and vehicle of propagation to hate and division.

“We’re hopeful to see this approach amongst industry leaders become reality.

“For one, the industry group GARM—the Global Alliance for Responsible Media—has committed to evaluating standards and definitions around online hate speech.”

Later this week, on August 14, Meghan is due to take part in the 19th Represents online event.

In a statement, Meghan said: “The 19th*’s commitment to reporting and storytelling that lifts up those who are too often underrepresented in the

media has never been more important.

“I’m looking forward to asking the co-founder what it means to build a media outlet with gender equity, diversity, and community at its core.”
