Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, moved to LA after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in March. The Duke of Sussex celebrated his birthday in his new home following an eventful year that has transformed his life. Despite the couple having to celebrate at their Santa Barbara home as prevalent COVID-19 cases have forced many bars to shut, royal correspondents Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito explained how Meghan would have gone “above and beyond” for the special occasion.
Speaking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, Ms Bowie said: “For Harry’s birthday in the past, I do think Meghan always goes above and beyond to plan a particularly romantic and special day.
“I’m sure that it being the first one in California, she’s going to do similar things even if it’s just at home.”
Ms Fiorito added: “I’m sure she is such a good party planner.
“Also, Meghan and Harry are reportedly much happier now that they’ve separated from The Firm.

Harry and Meghan’s new life in America is progressing fast and the couple announced at the start of September they had signed a deal with Netflix to create films and programmes – estimated by an industry expert to be worth more than 250 million dollars (£190 million).
Harry and Meghan have spent much of the lockdown supporting local charities in California or championing causes like gender politics and equality.
In the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, the couple have spoken to young Commonwealth leaders and Harry raised the colonial background of the Commonwealth: “When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past.
“So many people have done such an incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do.”
