Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the UK in March this year in a bid to pursue an independent life outside of the Royal Family. Meghan and Harry have since settled in Los Angeles, California, where they invested in an £11.2million pound property in the luxury neighbourhood of Montecito, Santa Barbara. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have staff working in their home, and they get a real kick out of Meghan’s mixed accents, an insider said.
The former Suits actress picked up her accent after just two years living in the UK with Prince Harry.
A source told : “Meghan was the all-American girl before she met Harry, but since living in the UK she has adopted certain phrases.
“Her staff think it’s amusing to listen to an American celebrity using Britishisms. She is often heard saying ‘Oh darling’ to people at home.
“They do have a giggle about it and sometimes they do impressions but only in a light-hearted way. It’s funny to them.”

A source told HELLO!: “This is something they have been looking to do for a while now.
“They have been moving from location to location, but this is their home now and it’s a significant moment for them. Everything else can now start to fall into place.”
The location carries much appeal for Meghan and Harry, as Santa Barbara is just miles away from Los Angeles, where the Duchess was born and grew up.
Additionally, it is well known for its focus on wellness and anthropology, which is ideal for the socially conscious couple.
A spokesperson from Visit Santa Barbara said they were “thrilled” the couple had chosen the city as home.
The spokesperson said: “One of the reasons why celebrities love living in Santa Barbara and visiting here is because they feel like regular people and don’t get hassled by locals or by paparazzi, though this may considerably up the ante – we hope not, for their sake.
“Many of the homes in Montecito are very well hidden from view with large hedges and gates, which helps give them the privacy and discretion they desire.
“Santa Barbara also has a high concentration of philanthropists and philanthropical organisations, so this will be a good setting for the important work they are doing.”
