The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the Royal Family last year to move to America and start a new chapter in their lives. At the time they said they wanted to pursue a financially independent life away from the glare of the British media. They have since settled down with baby son Archie in their new home in Montecito, California.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, a source close to the Duke said that Harry’s grandmother only wanted the best for him.

They revealed: “Harry has spoken to the Queen, and she told him she was delighted he has found happiness.

“She only wants the best for him and his family.

“She has seen him struggle with his position in the family and had always had a great deal of affection and sympathy for him.”

The source described the conversation as a harmonious one between a “caring grandmother and her grandson”.

On Thursday the Prince made a surprise appearance on The Late Late Show, hosted by his pal James Corden.

He said: “We got to spend an enormous amount of time just the two of us.

“There were no distractions, and that was great.

“It was an amazing thing. We went from zero to 60 in the first two months.”
