Sean Smith, author of the book ‘Meghan Misunderstood’, said the Duchess of Sussex brought a “great deal of charisma” to the Firm. He claimed Meghan is “not a dull person” whose “gift” was not appreciated by the Royal Family.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Mr Smith said he did not want to knock down other members of the Royal Family including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

But added how Meghan’s “different life experience” brought something that is “now missing” from the Firm.

The Duchess was previously an actress and a well-known Canadian celebrity but had to work hard to make a name for herself.

After her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, the Duchess retired from her acting career to become a full time royal.

Meghan attended Northwestern University but after graduating she stepped into the acting scene.

She worked hard to establish herself as an actress by taking on various roles.

The Duchess had to take small roles at the start of her career in order to help pay her bills according to a royal expert.

Omid Scobie, author of Harry and Meghan’s biography ‘Finding Freedom’, said the Duchess had once been so poor that she could not afford to fix the broken locks on her car.

The royal author said the “gift” allowed the Duchess to give “very inspirational” speeches.

Referencing Meghan’s trip to Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, before the Sussexes officially stepped down as senior royals, Mr Smith said the Duchess “hug” was “fantastic”.

He claimed it often “brought empathy” to certain situations.

Mr Smith said: “Meghan would be great in politics, I think the speeches she gives are very inspirational and I think she is a tremendous public speaker.

“She is very very articulate too and it is a gift that she brought to the Royal Family, a gift that was not properly appreciated.”
