Dani Trin, from Portugal, was reportedly thanked personally by the Sussexes for helping raise thousands for charities associated with the royals. Ms Trin said: “This was a short call with the sole purpose to thank us all for our efforts in putting such an amazing effort in and also for our enthusiastic support in the past two years.”
She added the couple sounded “so moved and thankful” for her support.
However, apparently unbeknownst to Meghan and Harry, the woman was also one of eight people who had access to a Twitter account which targeted the institution of the Royal Family and members within it, according to .
The Twitter account was called @Henryscousin – though it appears to have now been deleted.
One tweet sent by the account read: “The way that Harry and Meghan aren’t part of that s***, messy, toxic institution anymore is most pleasing to me.”
Others branded the Duchess of Cambridge “bitter” and a “b****”, while Prince William was referred to as an “a**hole”.
Ms Trin told the paper she was one of the group who had access to the account – though she denied personally writing any of the abusive tweets.
She added: “Henryscousin was like a forum and I had no control what other people posted.”
There is no suggestion the Duke and Duchess had any knowledge of or condoned the offensive messages.

The Duke said he and Meghan had started calling business leaders at “organisations we all use in our daily lives” to call for change in the online world.
He told companies they should think about their role in “funding and supporting online platforms that have contributed to, stoked, and created the conditions for a crisis of hate, a crisis of health, and a crisis of truth.”
He added: “Social media’s own algorithms and recommendation tools can drive people down paths toward radicalism and extremism that they might not have taken otherwise.
“We can—and must—encourage these platforms to redesign themselves in a more responsible and compassionate way. The world will feel it, and we will all benefit from it.”
The royal couple recently sent their thanks to other fans who helped raise $80,000 in donations to the Campaign for Female Education – CAMFED – which aims to alleviate poverty through education.
Harry and Meghan have since moved into a new house in their new home of California.
The couple’s new £11 million home is situated in the Santa Barbara – not far from Los Angeles, where they had been staying previously.
The nine-bedroom home has been referred to as “The Chateau” and also has a swimming pool, tennis court and more.
