Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was previously an actress and a well-known Canadian celebrity but had to work hard to make a name for herself. After her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, the Duchess retired from her acting career to become a full time royal.
The Duchess attended Northwestern University but after graduating she stepped into the acting scene.
She worked hard to establish herself as an actress by taking on various roles.
She guest starred on the 90210 reboot where she played a high school student who got caught in a compromising situation in a car with a boy.
The Duchess also briefly appeared on the show Deal or No Deal as a Briefcase Model.
The Duchess had to take small roles at the start of her career in order to help pay her bills according to a royal expert.
Omid Scobie, author of the Sussex biography Finding Freedom, said the Duchess had once been so poor that she could not afford to fix the broken locks on her car.
He said: “She didn’t have enough money to fix it when the automatic locks stopped working.”
He explained how the Duchess spent five months entering her car through the trunk.

The Duke and Duchess reportedly purchased a £11.1million mansion recently in Montecito, Santa Barbara.
Although the news was revealed in August, the couple are said to have brought the house back in June.
The new mansion has nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a children’s playground and a swimming pool.
The home also has a large lot of land that contains rose gardens, century-old olive trees, tennis courts, a tea house, a swimming pool, and a children’s cottage.
The area is known for its celebrity residents with neighbours including Oprah Winfrey and Drew Barrymore.
When the Sussexes announced their decision to step down as senior royals, they originally said they wanted to split their time between the UK and North America.
But since March, the couple have only been residing in the US due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Duke and Duchess continued undertaking royal duties up until the end of March.
They have, however, said they will carry on taking part in engagements with organisations they were already involved with such as the Invictus Games and the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
Before moving into their new mansion, the Sussexes were living in Tyler Perry’s huge Beverly Hills Tuscan-style villa.
