Moving house can be incredibly stressful – but winning £30,000 as a result no doubt takes the edge off it!

Mum-of-two Jenny Quilter experienced just that after moving house and finding out her new address had come up on People’s Postcode Lottery.

The 53-year-old was the single winning postcode in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.

Thrilled Jenny, a financial controller, found out she was a winner during a video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.

She said: “Oh my goodness, no way. I can’t believe it. I only moved to this postcode last year, so it’s been a very lucky house so far.

“I’ll be doing some home improvements and treat all the family for sure, spread some of the love.

“My son is 19 and my daughter is 21 next month, so it’s a special birthday.

“I’ll put some aside and go on holiday next year to Florida to see my mum’s sister, so my aunt and uncle. Maybe I’ll take the whole family over!”

Seeing her cheque on screen, Jenny said: “I keep looking at it – I can’t believe it!”

Luck must run in the family as Jenny isn’t the first person to win Postcode Lottery in the family – her mum Irene won £1,000 a few months ago.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson said: “I couldn’t be more pleased for Jenny and hope she has a lovely time celebrating with her family before getting to work on those home improvements.”

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day.

People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of ActionAid. Players have raised over £9.7 million for the charity, enabling it to work in over 45 countries to help change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children and women.
