Police are on the scene and have put a 200m cordon in place. There is understood to be a suspect package at the station. All passengers have been removed from the station.
British Transport Police wrote: “Please be aware, as a precaution #Nottingham station has been evacuated and a 200m cordon is currently in place.
“It follows a report of a suspicious package, which is in the process of being assessed. Further updates to follow.”
One local resident wrote on Twitter: “I have no clue what’s going down at Nottingham Train Station but all the shouting and sirens I can hear from my window are low key unsettling.”
Station officials say the area will be closed until at least 1.30pm while officers investigate.
