This week, Meghan and Prince Harry urged Americans to vote in the upcoming elections this November during a Time 100 video. Viewers claimed the couple appeared to be giving their support for Democratic hopeful Joe Biden.

Following the video, a source close to the couple told Vanity Fair Meghan did not want to give up her US citizenship so she could go into politics.

The source said: “One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics.

“I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president.”

Now, the Good Morning Britain co-host has lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex after the news was released.

Mr Morgan wrote on Twitter: “I have serious ambitions to be Pope – and have more chance of realising them than this ludicrously deluded woman.”

Since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family, both Meghan and Harry have become increasingly involved in political discussions.

In their video this week, Harry said: “As we approach this November, it’s vital we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”

Meghan then added: “We’re six weeks out from the election, and today is Voter Registration Day.

“Every four years, we’re told the same thing, ‘This is the most important election of our lifetime’.

“But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard.”

It is believed the Queen and her family have distanced themselves from the couple’s comments saying they were made in a “personal capacity”.

Traditionally, members of the British Royal Family – although not barred from voting – do not exercise their right in order to remain as neutral as possible.

Back in August, Meghan urged US voters to make sure they cast their ballot during a passionate speech.

But her plea was met with anger from the British public who called for her titles to be removed if she wants to get into politics.

Mr Morgan has been a vocal critic of both Meghan and Harry and this week he called out the couple for equality talk.

In his latest column on the Mail Online, Mr Morgan wrote: “For all their constant talk of ‘equality’, they deliberately brand themselves as royals, perhaps the most elitist, unequal, privileged group of human beings on earth.

“And they do that because it makes them massively more commercially attractive to the likes of Netflix who just shelled out a rumoured $150 million to have them produce woke documentaries.

“But keeping the royal titles prohibits them from sticking their noses into the political trough as they’ve now done.

“Especially Harry, who is a UK citizen and sixth in line to the throne of the British Monarchy.

“In other words, it’s possible – albeit thankfully very unlikely – that he might one day be King.

“To spell out how this could happen in brutally simplistic hypothetical terms: if the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and William’s three children are all killed in a terror attack, we automatically get King Harry.”

In the article, Mr Morgan claimed that Harry and Meghan are “telling Americans to vote against President Trump”.
