The Good Morning Britain Presenter has taken to Twitter to post updates about tonight’s election. Ahead of the polls closing, Mr Morgan could not predict an out-and-out winner for tonight’s contest, pointing to Florida as crucial in deciding the election. The presenter, famously close friends with Mr Trump, has frequently criticised the President throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Morgan said on Twitter yesterday evening: “My final US Election prediction: Biden should win, Trump might win, but frankly anything could happen.”
At 2am GMT, he referred to the unpredictability of the contest as evidence he was right.
He said: “I don’t like to brag but my confident final US Election prediction that ‘anything could happen’ is looking Nostradamus-worthy.”
As of writing, Mr Biden is leading with 223 electoral college votes to Mr Trump’s 174.
US election 2020 in chaos: Trump and Biden may have to wait for DAYS until result known
Earlier Mr Morgan said, also on Twitter, that the election chances for both men hinge on Florida.
He said: “Lots of people seem very certain what’s going to happen tonight in the US election.
“I’m only certain about my uncertainty. But come back to me after the Florida result comes in (it should be early)….
“if Biden wins there, he’ll be President. But if Trump wins, game on.”

Florida has been called by the Associated Press for Mr Trump.
The President won the state with 5,644,988 votes to the Democrat’s 5,267,642.
In 2016, Florida voted for the Republican over Hillary Clinton by 1.2 percent.
No Democrat has won in the state of Florida since 1976, when Jimmy Carter took the state by 5.29 percent.
Mr Morgan has been outspoken about Mr Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, frequently challenging the President on Good Morning Britain and on Twitter.
Last month, he said after the President left Walter Reed General Hospital for coronavirus: ”Mr President, you just had the best health care imaginable for any human being on this Earth.
“With an army of the greatest physicians in America, they’ve given you drugs some of which are not even available to the general public.
“By the way, you still have the virus Mr President. You’re still infectious with the virus and what do you do?”
But since then, Mr Morgan has revealed he and the President have sorted out their row.
Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on ITV’s This Morning: “I called him out, and I said you should start refollowing me on Twitter, because he unfollowed me when I told him to shut the bleep up about coronavirus… and it all got pretty unpleasant.
“But he saw me talk about it and he called me up, and you know I still consider him to be a friend, I’ve known him a long time.”
