Police have launched a new criminal investigation into the 2014 mayoral election in Tower Hamlets, east London, Scotland Yard said.
Operation Lynemouth will examine criminal allegations of electoral fraud and malpractice.
It will look at material from a previous investigation into Lutfur Rahman, elected as Tower Hamlets mayor in 2014, and his agent Alibor Choudhury.
