The Prince of Wales has been the patron of the Philharmonia Orchestra since 1980. Over the years, Prince Charles has attended several of the orchestra’s performances.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are believed to be staying at Highgrove House, Gloucestershire, during the pandemic.
In 2018, Prince Charles did a rare interview on BBC 3’s ‘Private Passions’ where he spoke about the role of music in his life.
He admitted to being a fan of Leonard Cohen and said he can play the trumpet.
The Prince of Wales told the show how he once led an orchestra as part of a romantic surprise for his wife Camilla on her 60th birthday.
The sweet romantic gesture tied in his passion for classical music.
Prince Charles arranged the Philharmonia Orchestra to play Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll piece for Camilla on her birthday.
He told BBC’s Radio 3’s Michael Berkeley: “There is something terribly romantic about it.”
Prince Charles also spoke about the importance of musical education in schools and insisted the UK would be “shooting itself in the foot” by ignoring the creative arts.

Last week, Prince Charles launched an ambitious project at the One Planet Summit in France.
He urged businesses to sign up to his ten-year Terra Carta or Earth Charter project.
The project aims to put “nature, people and planet at the heart of global value creation”.
The future king gave his speech partly in French, showcasing his linguistic skills.
Speaking to France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Prince Charles said: “I am most touched to have been invited to join all of you, at the start of this year of hope, for this vitally important One Planet Summit.
“I can only congratulate you, Cher Monsieur le President, for providing such a crucial opportunity to galvanise ambitious, but practical action to address the critical challenges facing this planet, which we all share with the rest of nature.”
On Friday, Camilla also launched her Instagram book club, The Reading Room.
The Duchess of Cornwall shared four of her book recommendations.
In a video to launch the project, Camilla said: “To me, reading is a great adventure. I’ve loved it since I was very small and I’d love everybody else to enjoy it as much as I do.
“You can escape, and you can travel, and you can laugh and you can cry. There’s every type of emotion humans experience in a book.”
