Prince Charles called on Government and people across the world to do more to fight climate change. The Prince of Wales spoke ahead of an online discussion via the Royal Society scientific academy today and warned of the dire consequences of inaction. The Prince of Wales highlighted the importance of the Economics of Biodiversity: Dasgupta Review and the significance of reevaluating the global fight against climate change.

The Review calls for changes in how we think, act and measure economic success to protect and enhance our prosperity and the natural world

He warned that unless key changes are put in place, the future of his own grandchildren is not assured.

He said: “We know day by day, we are rapidly destroying the fabric of the natural world for ourselves, for our children and grandchildren. and testing this planet to disruption.

“It is sheer madness to continue on this path.”

Prince Charles also touched on his own projects that he has recently launched in hopes of securing a sustainable future.

He said: “Last month I launched my Terra Carta as a way to put nature at the heart of our economy and essential to a sustainable future.

“Recognising the fundamental value of nature, it is also why I established the Natural Capital Investment Alliance which aims to make natural capital an investment theme across asset classes.

“This is while seeking to mobilise ten billion dollars for natural capital investment by next year.”
