Prince Harry was pictured attending one of the weekly events organised in Compton, a city south of downtown Los Angeles, by a local veteran association and the Walker Family Events Foundation (WFEF). The picture of the royal was shared on Instagram by the WFEF five days ago, where pictures of their ‘Operation Nourish’ food distribution events are regularly published.
In the caption to the picture, the Duke of Sussex is praised for being “humble and kind”.
The caption read: “Today I had the honour of meeting and working alongside Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
“He joined us in volunteering at Compton VFW for the Operation Nourish programme packing and distributing food to our #Compton neighbours.
“He is very humble and kind.”
During the event, Prince Harry helped other volunteers prepare food parcels to be distributed in the community.
The Duke of Sussex headed to the charitable initiative in his private capacity without being followed by the media, royal author Omid Scobie said.
The author of the biography Finding Freedom wrote on Twitter: “Prince Harry quietly volunteered alongside Compton Veterans in LA on November 13, helping pack and distribute food parcels as part of their #OperationNourish programme.

“The community-focused organisation works to improve quality of life for veterans, their families, and neighbours.
“Also worth noting that Harry’s participation took place with no fanfare or media.
“ComptonVeterans and WFEF_official (who help military veterans experiencing homelessness and hardship) hold drives to collect and distribute donations every week.”

The Duke of Sussex cut a casual figure at the charity event, wearing a cap, a khaki polo shirt, jeans and sneakers.
Abiding by the coronavirus guidelines in California, Prince Harry also wore a black face mask and had a pair of gloves hanging out from his pocket.
Twitter and Instagram users celebrated Harry’s attendance at the event.
Twitter user Aut to Do wrote: “Following in his mother’s footsteps doing the things that mean something to him, in the places that have the biggest impact, the People’s Prince.”
Another user, called Missy Loves Handbags, said: “Harry doing what he can for Veterans…even abroad.”
Instagram fan account _Duchess_Of_Sussex commented one of the pictures saying telling the WFEF: “Love this! It’s a joy seeing Harry out and about.
“Thanks for sharing this experience with the rest of us. Huge fan”
Prince Harry was last photographed in LA on Remembrance Sunday, when he and his wife Meghan Markle decided to mark the poignant day by visiting the Los Angeles National Cemetery.
During their visit, taking place on the same day senior royals in the UK were attending the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Harry and Meghan laid flowers picked from their garden at the graves of Ronald Scott, of the Royal Australian Air Force, and Captain William Quayle Setliffe, of the Royal Canadian Artillery.
The Duke of Sussex, who served for 10 years in the Army and fought twice in Afghanistan, also placed a wreath by a plaque which features the inscription: “In memory of the men who offered their lives in defence of their country.”
The wreath bore a message signed by the Duke, reading: “To all those who have served, and are serving. Thank you.”
