Prince Harry thanked an interviewee for his “kind words” about his mother, Princess Diana, in a new video of the royal. The Duke of Sussex had joined activist Patrick Hutchinson in a virtual call hosted by British GQ to discuss how to further anti-racism in the UK. Mr Hutchinson came into the public light after he was pictured lifting a counter-protester out of harm’s way during the Black Lives Matter marches in a defining moment.
Speaking to the prince, he told him: “Firstly this is an honour.
“Sorry for the grinning but it’s an honour to be able to talk to you on a one-to-one basis.
“This is almost as good as face-to-face.
“I’ve been an admirer from afar for a long time.”

Mr Hutchinson continued: “My family and I are great admirers of your mother.
“We loved her to bits, I’m sure as you did.
“So this is an honour to speak to you, first of all, so thank you for accepting the invitation.”
The Duke of Sussex appeared touched and taken aback by the guest’s words, and expressed his gratitude for them.
The interview was part of GQ’s content in support of Black History Month and to launch this year’s GQ Heroes festival, the magazine’s annual summit of ideas, culture and thought leadership.
Mr Hutchinson had been praised for his part during the BLM protests, with MPs describing him as representing “the best of human behaviour”.
Prince Harry was similarly impressed, hailing him as a “guardian angel” for his brave act.
The Duke opened up about his own work towards anti-racism in the candid conversation, admitting that he had not known unconscious bias existed until he was “living a day or a week in [his] wife’s shoes”.
He also admitted his “upbringing and education” did not equip him to understand the issue.
