Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 39, have moved to California with son, Archie Harrison, since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in March. The royal couple have been warned their privacy is more at risk in LA than in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Royal expert Marlene Koenig branded Harry’s decision to live in LA as “crazy” as she said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will become celebrities as opposed to royals.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Ms Koenig said: “I think for Harry that is going to be difficult to swallow.

“They would have far more privacy living in Frogmore Cottage behind the fences at Windsor Great Park than they will ever have living in a gated community in LA.

“Perhaps this is another stop before they make a final decision of where they want to set up home but I think LA is crazy.

“They become celebrities as opposed to royal which is two different things.

“If he or she will here on official business they would have state department security.

“But they’re not afforded any of that because they’re not here in any capacity as members of the Royal Family.”

Her comments come as royal experts claim Harry “gave up everything” for Meghan.

Speaking on the Channel 5 documentary, ‘Meghan & Harry: The New Revelations’, royal expert Emily Andrews explained how Harry had to “give up his country”.

“Even so it’s said courtiers and some family blame Meghan for Megxit.”

Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke said: “This girl who fell in love with a boy who happened to be part of the Royal Family and she gave up her whole career to move over here, to follow tradition and she literally couldn’t win.”

Equal right activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu added: “She basically gave up part of herself because that is what would have been expected of Meghan and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

“They all did that out of love for their spouses and out of respect for the institution.”
