The Duke of Sussex was interviewed for the startup streaming service, which aims to create documentaries focusing on climate change and environmental issues. In the discussion, Harry talks about the coronavirus pandemic potentially being linked to environmental issues. Earlier this year, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, also claimed the pandemic was linked to “Mother Nature”.

During the interview, Harry recalled someone describing the pandemic as a rebuke from “Mother Nature” for mistreating the environment.

He said: “Somebody said to me at the beginning of the pandemic, it’s almost as though Mother Nature has sent us to our rooms for bad behaviour, to really take a moment and think about what we’ve done.

“It’s certainly reminded me about how interconnected we all are, not just as people but through nature.

“We take so much from her and we rarely give a lot back.”

The Duke of Sussex then went on to speak about how individuals can take responsibility for the environment, comparing people to “raindrops”.

He added: “Every single raindrop that falls from the sky relieves the parched ground.

“What if every one of us was a raindrop? If every single one of us cared?

“We do, because we have to, because at the end of the day nature is our life source.”

Harry has been an outspoken advocate for climate issues and is the head of Africa Parks, a conservation group.

But the Duke and Meghan Markle have been criticised in the past for using private jets to travel while openly talking about climate change.

The Prince defended his use of private jets last year, citing security risks at the launch of Travalyst, an eco-tourism project in Amsterdam.

He said: “I came here by commercial. I spend 99 percent of my life travelling the world by commercial.

“Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family are safe – it’s generally as simple as that.”

Sarah spoke earlier this year about coronavirus and its potential links to environmental changes, potentially inspiring Harry.

Captioning a picture of a cherry blossom tree on Instagram, she wrote: “Mother Nature has sent us to our rooms… Like the spoilt children we are.

“She gave us time and she gave us warnings. She was so patient with us. She gave us fire and floods, she tried to warn us but in the end she took back control.

“She has sent us to our rooms and when she is finished clearing up our mess. She will let us out to play again.”
