Angela Levin told talkRADIO that the Duke of Sussex still represents the United Kingdom and therefore should not be telling US citizens to vote. The royal expert added that despite Prince Harry’s staff stating that the Duke is not backing either candidate in the election, it is clear who he is not supporting.

Ms Levin said: “I think the election is very important because it is not his business.

“He is still a royal, he represents the United Kingdom.

“He cannot go over there and say everyone has got to vote.

“We all know who he means, one of his staff said he did not mean anyone in particular.

“But he was sulking when Trump came to visit the Queen in Windsor.

“If it was not, he would be in big trouble with Meghan because she is quite outspoken about her dislike of Trump.”

Earlier this month, Meghan Markle said regarding voting during an online appearance for When All Women Vote: “We vote to honour those who came before us and to protect those that come after us, that’s what community is all about and that’s specifically what this election is all about.

“You’re just as mobilised and energised to see the change we all need and deserve.

Royal expert Rachel Bowie told Royally Obsessed podcast: “The Queen has previously encouraged people to vote.

“This is not a new thing and it is not partisan, Meghan is just saying vote, which is really important that everybody votes.”

Ms Bowie added: “She never endorsed any candidate, while you can make inferences about which candidate she is voting for.

“Obviously she did not come out and openly say that, she was politically neutral.”
