Prince Harry was furious when his future-wife Meghan was blocked from wearing her choice of tiara on their wedding day in 2018, according to the author of a new biography about the couple. Writer Omid Scobie, who co-authored Finding Freedom – a tell-all book which reveals shocking details about the Royal Family – has said the Duke was outraged over the move.

The feud was detailed in Finding Freedom, which only hit the shelves last week.

Ahead of the wedding, it was reported Meghan wanted to wear an emerald tiara, but the Queen insisted she wore a diamond tiara worn by her grandmother, Queen Mary, in 1932.

At the time a source said: “There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry.

“She said, ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me’.”

But the book states the Duchess blamed Her Majesty’s personal dresser Angela Kelly for the bust up, and not the monarch.

The authors note there were no disagreements between Meghan and the Queen about the tiara.

Instead, the tell-all biography claims Ms Kelly was responsible for the tiara drama, as the royal dresser deliberately dragged her feet in helping Meghan choose a tiara for their 2018 wedding day.

Now it appears Harry intervened in the dispute and had stern words with his grandmother, the Queen.

In 1932 the diamond and platinum tiara was made to accommodate the brooch.

The stunning tiara was then bequeathed to Elizabeth when Queen Mary died in 1953.

Meghan and Harry have insisted they were not involved with the publication of the bombshell biography, which is packed with previously unknown details about the events leading up to their decision to quit as senior members of the Royal Family.

Instead the royal reporters interviewed people close to the couple, to dispel “the many rumours and misconceptions that plague the couple”.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan released a statement ahead of the book’s publication, saying: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom.

“This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”
