Piers Morgan has said he feels sorry for Prince Harry, following his recent split from the Royal Family. The prominent broadcast journalist made the comments in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk where he gave a word of warning to the Duke.

Mr Morgan told this website he believes Meghan was behind their joint decision to step down as senior royals earlier this year.

He said: “I just think she has got a ruthlessly ambitious streak and it is a great shame that she’s hooked herself into Prince Harry and taken him from the country.

“I think it is Britain’s loss, he was a hugely popular Prince.

“I think he held some very important roles in this country and would have been a great force for good for us.

“But instead she has taken him and I think the Queen will be sad and the public is sad.”

The journalist went on to say he felt sorry for Harry and issued him some friendly advice.

Mr Morgan said: “I feel sorry for him in a way that she is very convincing when she wants something out of people.

“I can certainly say that after personal experience when she wanted my advice on handling the media and stuff she can turn on the charm when it suits her but the moment you are of no use to her you’re gone.

In a damning indictment of the former-Suits actress, he said: “When I was still friends with her she was pretty open about her ambition.

“The way she treats friends and family is pretty indicative of a ruthless social climber who will stop at nothing to get where she wants to get to and I’m sure she thinks the sky is her limit.

“She’s landed her Prince and she’s wrestled him away from his family.”

The journalist further discusses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in his new book, Wake Up.

The book, which takes the reader through the events of 2020 up until mid-July, comments on the couple multiple times.

The journalist is highly critical of the pair, and writes: “It’s sadly, pathetically clear that all the Sussexes care about, like so many self-obsessed privileged wokies, is themselves.

“They live in a me-me-me bubble that doesn’t allow for anything more important, like the worst-global pandemic in a century, to interfere with their self-promotion.”
