A statue the brothers commissioned to honour their late mother is due to be unveiled in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1. Royal author Angela Levin said the reunion of William and Harry at the event is likely to be “a bit awkward”.
Harry’s biographer told Express.co.uk: “It will be a bit awkward. It will be very moving but also a bit awkward.”
William and Harry, who has quit royal duties for new life in America with Meghan Markle, have been the subject of an alleged rift.
The unveiling of the statue was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The memorial by Ian Rank-Broadley is due to be unveiled on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday.
It had been hoped the project would bring the brothers closer together after their alleged rift.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their intention to step back as senior royals just over a year ago.
The royals are said to have been left blindsided by the shock statement and the Queen held a summit at Sandringham with Prince Charles, William and Harry to resolve the crisis.
Meghan and Harry officially ended royal duties on March 31 in what has been dubbed Megxit.

However, this looks unlikely as they launch new careers outside of the Royal Family.
Ms Levin warned the review is likely to be “very difficult” for the monarch.
Harry’s biographer said: “I think that will be very difficult to be both the Queen and a grandmother at the same time.
“She’s done it before many times and she’s succeeded terrifically well, so I hope she does that again.
“She has devoted herself to this country and she wants to make sure that it’s not for no avail.”
