The father-of-three said he was delighted to see his children’s passion for nature.
He said: “Seeing my children, seeing the passion in their eyes and the love for being outdoors.
“They find a bug or they love watching how bees are forming honey.”
The Duke of Cambridge added: “Now I have got George, Charlotte and now Louis in my life – your outlook does change.
“You want to hand over to the next generation, the wildlife in a much better condition.”
William said his eldest son in particular struggles if he does not get to spend time outdoors.
Prince William said: “George, particularly, if he’s not outdoors, he’s quite like a caged animal. He needs to get outside.”
