The Royal Family carried out less official duties than 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Court Circular has shown. The analysis showed the Princess Royal carried out a total of 233 engagements this year in the UK. Out of this total, 98 engagements involved opening ceremonies, sports events, concerts and charity events in person.
She also attended 32 receptions, lunches, dinners and banquets, as well as 26 investiture and audiences given.
Anne carried out a further 77 virtual duties involving speaking to audiences and holding meetings by video link and telephone.
Camilla carried out 115 events in the UK and five engagements overseas this year.
Kate was also beaten by the Queen’s daughter as she attended 104 engagements in the UK and four abroad.
Anne managed to also beat Camilla and Kate with the number of engagements she attended overall last year before the pandemic.
She carried out 453 in the UK and 53 overseas, while Camilla attended 166 events, with a further 54 abroad.
The Duchess of Cambridge carried out 110 engagements in the UK and 16 overseas.
Sophie Wessex was revealed to have carried out the most engagements overseas this year at 26.
Prince William managed to carry out 153 engagements in 2020, with 149 in the UK and four abroad.

Anne had a busy year too as she turned 70 on August 15.
Her achievements over the years were shown on an ITV documentary: Anne: The Princess Royal at 70.
The British public was given a rare behind-the-scenes look at the Princess Royal’s schedule and also included interviews with loved ones.
Her first engagements of the year took place on January 8, where she went to Oxford to attend the Farming Conference Debate at the Oxford Union.
In February alone, the Princess Royal visited organisations including the Camden Carers Association, Danemore Sheltered Housing Scheme in Kent and the Magpas Air Ambulance Operations Base in Huntingdon.
Anne also headed to the General Register Office on Merseyside for a visit.
She also attended London Fashion Week in an oft worn suit to present the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.
Her visit to Cheltenham Festival in March was marred by criticism over whether there should have been a large gathering as the pandemic was worsening in the UK.
Next year will no doubt be eventful too as her daughter Zara Tindall will become her third child.
Anne was last seen on the steps of Windsor Castle with The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Earl and Countess of Wessex, to greet Kate and William as they ended their train tour in December.
The Queen was seen most recently giving her annual Christmas Day broadcasts, where she told people they were “not alone” despite the pandemic devastating many lives this year.
She added she was also spending Christmas Day away from her family due to the new tier restrictions.
She said: “Remarkably, a year that has necessarily kept people apart has, in many ways, brought us closer.
“In the United Kingdom and around the world, people have risen magnificently to the challenges of the year, and I am so proud and moved by this quiet, indomitable spirit.”
